It’s that time of year again: at the beginning of January, the international architecture and design community will be coming together for imm Cologne. Located opposite the KölnMesse exhibition centre, DESIGN POST, with its impressive showroom covering more than 3,500 square metres of floor space in a listed steel-arch structure, will again become a central hub for trade fair visitors and design lovers, as a source of information and inspiration, a meeting point, a boulevard for aesthetes and a trade exhibition. More than 30 international brands will be expecting more than 20,000 design professionals, architects, interior designers, retailers, journalists and consumers. This leading European multi-brand design showroom is open all year long, providing regular networking opportunities with product launches, meetings and presentations.

New exhibitors at DESIGN POST in 2020 are: the Danish cult label Muuto, which, in addition to a new lounge chair designed by the Norwegian designer duo Andersen & Voll, will also be presenting two new products by American-born, Netherlands-based designer Rachel Griffin (Earnest Studio). Furthermore, DESIGN POST is delighted to welcome new partners: Buzzi Space, which provides acoustic solutions for the home and new work concepts, the legendary American furniture manufacturer Emeco and the innovative Italian wall décor specialist Wall & Deco.

In 2020, DESIGN POST’s network partners will once again stage impressive displays and installations. For Kvadrat, the leading textiles specialist from Denmark, designer Stefan Diez has developed the ‘Slot’ exhibition concept, inspired by childhood memories of building fortresses from umbrellas. As a tribute to designer Ingo Maurer, who recently passed away, the reception area will feature a large pendant of flickering LED candles, which was implemented using a modular rail system from lighting brand Buschfeld. With new ideas and approaches like these, DESIGN POST will be providing inspiration, away from the hustle and bustle of the trade fair halls.

All year round, Design Post serves as a tool, platform and showroom for its partners. Developed by industry experts, the concept offers wide-ranging services tailored to meet the ambitious needs of architects, project developers and designers.

For the participating brands, with its open showrooms, the large industrial structure provides a space to present their collections in line with their brand positioning and identity. For visitors, Design Post is a place to gauge and experience the results of online research or product selections suggested by retailers, magazines or social networks. The Design Post’s highly skilled team provides independent advice, offering orientation and information without the usual sales pressure. Regular events, modern meeting and presentation settings and technology, as well as co-working spaces create a permanent place for inspiration and exchange in the centre of Europe.

That’s how Design Post acts as an effective catalyst for the architecture and design community.
